Dear Jane, How do I get my joy back in lockdown?

Dear Jane,

This pandemic lockdown has been dragging on for what seems like forever. Of course, I want everyone to stay safe and for this virus to be eradicated, but the continuous social distancing has become more like social isolation for me.

In the beginning, I was able to keep busy with working from home, exercising outside, and having Zoom happy hours with my friends, but I’ve been feeling particularly down, restless, and just not myself over the past few weeks.

I know that things will go back to normal soon with the vaccine rolling out, but I just don’t know how to get out of this quarantine funk in the meantime.

Jane, how do I get my joy back when I can’t seem to see the light at the end of the quarantine tunnel?

The light at the end of the tunnel is drawing near, just stay focused on gratitude, being in the present moment, and taking care of yourself.

Dear Lockdown Has Me Down,

Honestly, I’ve been feeling exactly the same way. The stops and the starts of lockdown easing up and then locking back down can definitely take its toll on our mental and emotional well-being. But don’t worry, I have an intentional self-care plan in place that helps me to get out of those lockdown blues, and hopefully, it will help you too.

So when I’m feeling down, I love treating myself to the Big Night In set which includes the Nighty Night capsules, Go Away, I’m Fizzy CBD bath bomb, and the Pain, Pain, Go Away cream. It’s the perfect combination that treats both my mind and body when I need to relax, reset, and reboot.

I enjoy how the Nighty Night capsules ease my restlessness and anxiety from being indoors the majority of the day and it lets me settle into a peaceful night’s sleep and awaken refreshed and ready to take on the day feeling reinvigorated.

Soaking in a hot CBD-infused bathtub calms my nerves, soothes my body, and clears my mind which allows me to me reset emotionally and mentally while my body is at rest. Slowing down and relaxing helps me to put everything into perspective and know that although things might be tough right now, but this too shall pass.

I also massage the Pain, Pain, Go Away cream into my aches and pains for when I’m feeling sluggish or just not like myself. Making sure that I’m taking care of my body helps overall when I’m feeling down.

Another thing that helps me to get out of my lockdown funk is keeping a gratitude journal. It’s hard to feel down and out when I’m focused on all of the good things that I have in my life, big or small. So try waking up every day and writing down ten things that you’re grateful for and do the same before you go to sleep. I’m sure in no time you’ll be feeling like your old self again with a renewed outlook on life, even in lockdown.

The light at the end of the tunnel is drawing near, just stay focused on gratitude, being in the present moment, and taking care of yourself.

xoxo, Jane
